Looking ahead, we are excited to continue working closely with our client to enhance Limerick One Shopping Park’s presence within the community and to ensure it remains a vibrant, attractive hub for retail, leisure, and wellbeing in the years to come.

Training Day Success!
We’re proud to support Dungarvan Shopping Centre as they continue to take meaningful steps towards becoming an Autism Friendly Shopping Centre who all received certificates under the AsIAm Charity.
The training session held on Tuesday 23rd September 2025 marked another key milestone in their journey to creating a space that is inclusive, understanding, and welcoming for all. 💙
Discover more about Dungarvan Shopping Centre’s autism-friendly initiatives and how you can support their ongoing mission here.

Swords Pavilions becomes the first shopping centre in Ireland to be awarded the AsIAm Autism-Friendly Accreditation. AsIAm is Ireland’s Autism charity that provides evidence-based advice, resources and guidance in relation to Autism. It serves as a vital bridge between the autistic community and wider Irish society working to remove barriers. It promotes understanding, and ensures that autistic people have the same opportunity to participate fully in all aspects of life.
Leadership and industry recognition
The Bannon relationship began with AsIAm CEO Adam Harris. Mr. Harris was invited as a keynote speaker at the Bannon Property Management Conference in 2024 and represented the growing focus on inclusion within the property sector.
Commitment to inclusion and accessibility
This accreditation for Swords Pavilions reflects a significant commitment to accessibility and inclusion, with the centre undertaking a wide range of initiatives to better support autistic individuals and their families. The process was led by General Manager Ian Hunter, with delivery supported by Customer Experience Manager Sandy Calitz, Marketing & Promotions Manager Leanne O’Reilly, and Sustainability Manager Mark Hannigan.
Comprehensive staff training and sensory enhancements
Achieving the accreditation involved a comprehensive programme to review and improve areas of the centre, where needed, to help autistic customers. Staff underwent autism-awareness and sensory training designed to equip them with the skills and confidence needed to support neurodivergent customers. These sessions focused on recognising sensory sensitivities and creating a more understanding, patient environment.
Physical changes to the centre also played a key role. These included the introduction of a dedicated sensory room, quiet shopping hours, clearly marked visual guides, and adjustments to lighting and sound levels during specific times. These features were developed in consultation with AsIAm.
Engagement with retail occupiers
The accreditation process extended beyond centre management, with significant engagement from occupiers. Centre management encouraged all retail units to participate in making the shopping centre environment more inclusive. Many embraced the opportunity and have since introduced their own customer-friendly adjustments.
Ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement
The centre is also committed to ongoing evaluation and improvement. Accreditation is not viewed as a one-off achievement but part of a continuous effort to embed inclusion into the day-to-day running of the centre. Staff will continue to receive updated training, and customer feedback will inform future adaptations as needs evolve.
A blueprint for inclusive retail across Ireland
Families and carers have responded positively to the changes, reporting reduced stress during visits and a greater willingness to return.
This initiative reflects a broader shift in how retail environments are approaching accessibility as a core part of community engagement and customer service. By listening to the needs of autistic visitors and acting on that feedback, Swords Pavilions has demonstrated how practical, sustainable changes can make a lasting difference.
This accreditation positions the centre as a leader in inclusive retail, offering a blueprint for other shopping destinations across Ireland seeking to improve accessibility and create more welcoming environments for all.

The Bannon Property Management Retail Portfolio continues to grow its presence in key regional centres across Ireland. Riverview Shopping Centre in Bandon represents a core part of that commitment to supporting vibrant local communities. Bannon resumed management of the centre in April 2023—returning to familiar ground, having previously held the reins in earlier years. You could say we know our way around the place. Situated on MacSwiney Quay overlooking the River Bandon, Riverview Shopping Centre has served as a central retail and service hub for West Cork since its opening in the early 2000s.
Conveniently positioned at the gateway to the town centre and just minutes from key road networks, the centre benefits from high footfall from residents, neighbouring rural areas, and seasonal tourist traffic. Bandon is a key regional town with a growing population, currently estimated at over 8,500. Riverview Shopping Centre plays a pivotal role in everyday life in Bandon. More than just a retail destination, it serves as a meeting place, a provider of essential services, and a supporter of community initiatives.
The centre’s occupier mix reflects the needs of a diverse population, offering a blend of essential services, retail variety, and personal care options. It is home to national and local occupiers that provide convenience, lifestyle, and specialist retail offerings to shoppers. Anchored by a full-line SuperValu, the centre also features well-known brands such as Sports Direct, Specsavers, Cummins Sports, Dealz, Card Factory, Scannell’s Haven Pharmacy, Three Store, and a host of local operators including Bandon Books, Homefront Interiors, and Niall’s Restaurant.
Spanning approximately 80,000 sq. Ft, the centre has evolved to meet the needs of its community, with an emphasis on offering both utility and comfort. The centre’s ongoing engagement with the local community is a key part of its identity. Riverview Shopping Centre regularly supports charitable initiatives, health campaigns, and local sporting organisations, and has been a visible partner in promoting town centre events and seasonal campaigns. This commitment reflects a long-term investment not just in retail, but in the social and economic wellbeing of the area.
With its central location, modern amenities, and well-balanced retail mix, Riverview Shopping Centre remains a trusted destination for the people of Bandon and the wider West Cork region
Shopping centre visitors benefit from over 250 free car parking spaces, including designated disabled and parent-and-child bays, as well as well-maintained public restrooms, baby changing facilities, and on-site ATM services.
Accessibility to the centre is further enhanced by multiple Bus Éireann and Local Link routes that connect Bandon to Cork City and the surrounding West Cork region, making Riverview an easy stop for both locals and visitors.
As the community continues to grow, Riverview is poised to remain a cornerstone of local life—delivering convenience, connection, and a strong sense of place at the heart of Bandon.

A big thank you to Tina-Marie O’Neill at the Business Post for covering this story in Sunday’s edition, with Ray Geraghty explaining that ‘this marks the culmination of five years of planning, investment and implementation of sustainability measures’.

At Bannon, we believe that exceptional property management is built on strong relationships and a shared commitment to continuous improvement. One of our standout examples is International House in the IFSC.
Trevor Nally has been instrumental to the running of International House for an incredible 26 years, first joining in 1998 as security and receptionist with Global Securiforce. Back then, communication was all done by phone (no emails!) and a single black-and-white BMS computer ran the systems.
When Bannon took over the Office Property Management in 2008, we quickly recognised Trevor’s dedication and local knowledge and we asked him to take on more responsibility. Since then, he has remained a constant through multiple transitions in security providers and owners. In 2017 the building was acquired by Intesa Sanpaolo and retained Bannon as the managing agent.
But the story of International House isn’t just about consistency, it’s about progress.
Intesa Sanpaolo have invested significantly in the building’s infrastructure and occupier experience. Most recently they have upgraded the ground floor shower and changing facilities and a brand new, modern reception area is currently in development. These enhancements reflect a continued commitment to quality, comfort, and the long-term future of International House. A workplace that is not just functional, but forward-thinking and occupier focused.
Trevor’s unwavering commitment, strong relationships with both occupiers and the owner, and his hands-on approach to caring for the building have made a real difference. His story is a reminder that behind every great building is someone who genuinely cares.
Thank you, Trevor for your dedication and to Intesa Sanpaolo for continually investing in the future of International House.

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Bannon as the new Property Management agents for the iconic Clerys Quarter development on O’Connell Street, Dublin. This landmark destination blends heritage and innovation, offering premium retail, office, and hospitality spaces in the heart of the city.
Some members of our Property Management team had a guided tour of the development this morning and are looking forward to working with the owners and occupiers of this historic building.

As Blackpool Shopping Centre approaches its 25th anniversary, we’re proud to celebrate one of our longest-running community initiatives — Seniors Morning Bingo, held on the last Tuesday of every month.
Running strong for 25 years, this cherished event brings joy, connection, and community spirit to local seniors with three members attending for an incredible 24 years!

Big thanks to Anca Pop and the Domestic & General Property Support Services Ltd team for their support and expertise in assisting the Ballinteer Tidy Town committee with a maintenance project in the area. We strive to work alongside companies that understand the importance of contributing towards the communities that we serve.
Making a Difference, One Hoofprint at a Time 🐴
The Bannon Property Management team had the incredible opportunity to step away from their desks on Friday and spend the day volunteering with Stewarts Care Equine Therapy Unit—a remarkable organisation dedicated to helping individuals heal and grow through the power of therapeutic horsemanship.
Our team rolled up their sleeves and got fully immersed in the day-to-day operations of the centre. The real reward was witnessing first-hand the calming and transformative connection between these gentle animals and the people they support.
Community involvement has always been a cornerstone of our culture at Bannon, and this experience reminded us of the impact small acts on days like this can have.
A huge thank you to the staff at Stewart’s Equine Therapy Unit for welcoming us so warmly and for the meaningful work you do. We’re honoured to have played a small part in your mission.

The highly anticipated new MANGO flagship store officially opened its doors at 112/113 Grafton Street over the weekend. We had the pleasure of a sneak preview—and to say it’s amazing would be an understatement.
Mango’s commitment to opening one of their largest stores in Ireland on Grafton Street highlights the remarkable renaissance the country’s premier retail street has experienced over the past three years.
The exit of several UK high street chains created opportunities for a new wave of international brands to establish a presence in the area. Mango now joins a vibrant mix including Lululemon, ICCLE, New Balance, LEGO, Sweaty Betty, Montblanc, American Vintage, Rains, and Carhartt. Together, these brands have transformed the area from high post-COVID vacancy to near full occupancy—more in line with what one would expect from a European capital of Dublin’s stature.
In fact, we’ve agreed more lettings on Grafton Street and Henry Street in the past three years than in the previous fifteen combined. There’s a steady stream of European and international retailers eager to tap into the Irish market. Once they experience the strong trading conditions here, many look to expand further with larger footprints.
Vacancy rates in the area have now dropped to low single digits, with very little retail space currently available. For information on the remaining opportunities within our client’s portfolio, please don’t hesitate to contact Jennifer Mulholland or James Quinlan.

Exciting News! 🎉 The Pantry is now open at Bray Central!
A big congratulations to the team for the fantastic fitout, offering delicious homecooked food with exceptional service.
Be sure to pop by to try out yourself!

The Mill Shopping Centre in Clondalkin stands as a long-established and much-loved hub at the heart of West Dublin and has been managed by Bannon since 2023. First opened in 1994, the centre was named in tribute to the historic paper mills that once operated in the area—particularly Clondalkin Paper Mills, which played a central role in the town’s industrial heritage and community development. Today, The Mill continues that legacy as a vital gathering point for the local population. Conveniently located just off the N7 and within easy reach of the M50, the centre enjoys excellent accessibility via car, foot, and multiple Dublin Bus routes serving the wider Clondalkin area.
With a local population of over 46,000, Clondalkin is a vibrant and diverse community with deep historical roots and a strong local identity. The Mill Shopping Centre plays a vital role in everyday life here, providing a central meeting place, shopping destination, and service hub for residents of all ages. The centre regularly engages with the local community, supporting schools, cultural initiatives, and neighbourhood projects throughout the year. In addition, The Mill proudly supports and sponsors a variety of local sports teams, charities, and community organisations—reinforcing its role as a trusted and active partner in the area.
Sustainability is an ongoing focus at The Mill. Initiatives such as waste reduction practices, energy consumption analysis and a continued emphasis on eco-friendly occupier operations reflect a commitment to environmental responsibility and long-term community wellbeing.
Spanning approximately 80,000 sq.ft, The Mill offers a well-rounded occupier mix that caters to both convenience and lifestyle needs. Anchored by Dunnes Stores, the centre also features a strong line-up of national and local retailers, essential services, and popular eateries. Key occupiers include Eir, Specsavers, McCabes Pharmacy, EuroGiant, Boots, McLoughlin’s Butchers, The Natural Bakery, Tuthills, and Anytime Fitness and many more. The centre also offers a selection of local cafés and food vendors that add to its welcoming, community-oriented atmosphere.
To ensure a stress-free visit, The Mill Shopping Centre provides over 400 free car parking spaces, making it an easy and accessible choice for shoppers arriving by car. The availability of ample parking supports a seamless experience for families, commuters, and visitors from surrounding areas.
With its strong sense of place, community-focused ethos, and excellent retail mix, The Mill Shopping Centre continues to serve as a vital anchor for Clondalkin and the surrounding areas—delivering value, convenience, and connection at the heart of the community.
We are pleased to announce the opening of a new Sensory Room at Swords Pavilions Shopping Centre: a calm and supportive space designed for children who benefit from a quieter, more controlled environment.
This initiative was brought forward by members of our on-site team, who identified the need for a space where children and families could step away from the busy atmosphere of the shopping centre. Their thoughtful approach, from initial concept through to implementation, has played a key role in making the Sensory Room a reality.
The room has been carefully fitted with features such as a bubble tube, sensory wall panels, an infinity mirror, and a soft ball pit, creating an engaging yet soothing environment. It offers children a place to relax, regulate, and recharge—particularly helpful for those with sensory processing needs or those who may feel overwhelmed in louder, more stimulating settings.
As property managers, we are committed to supporting inclusive, accessible spaces that reflect the needs of our wider community. The Sensory Room is an example of how small but meaningful changes can make a real difference in improving the visitor experience for families.
We encourage anyone interested to drop by the Customer Service Desk on the upper level of the shopping centre.

Great morning with Property Managers and Centre Managers with their extended teams together for a Marketing Insight Session with speakers Peter Higgins & Demi Wright from Walker Communications speaking on social media and Alex Herbert from Elevation Promotional Marketing on “Everything has changed, yet nothing has changed”.

In 2023 a full carpark upgrade was completed designed to significantly improve convenience, safety, and overall customer satisfaction. The upgrade includes enhanced lighting throughout the facility, improved signage for easier navigation.

Its occupier mix reflects the strong sense of local identity and loyalty, with a blend of well-known names and independent businesses.

Navan Retail Park located on the outskirts of Navan Town forms part of the Bannon management portfolio. Navan is the administrative centre of County Meath with a population of almost 34,000 (2022 Census) making it the ninth largest town in Ireland, this is primarily due to its proximity to Dublin making it a desired location for commuters.
The 152,000 Sq.Ft retail park was built in circa. 2005 with approx. 1,100 car parking spaces. The park currently houses 9 retail units varying in size. Additionally, the park retains undeveloped land for future growth of commercial space subject to planning permission.

This is served by the 109 bus with routes to both Dublin & Cavan hourly during peak times.
Under project Ireland 2040, Navan could be set to re-welcome a train service, serving the town via the M4 Parkway line. Subject to planning & funding it is anticipated this service won’t open until the early 2030’s with many obstacles to over come in the intervening period with a project of this scale. Undoubtedly if this project is completed it will only further bolster both Navan Retail Park and town as a destination for its ever-growing community.

The Harcourt Building is an iconic 60,000 sq ft piece of office real estate in Dublin city. It features two retail units on the ground floor and boasts occupiers such as Investec, Bloomberg, Starbucks, and Foody’s Pharmacy. Led by Sarah Fortune, Bannon has been appointed as Property Managers for this prestigious asset.
Sarah has an in-depth knowledge of the building having originally managed it in 2007. She brings dedication and an exceptional office management service that will benefit both occupier and owner as the building undergoes significant capital expenditure. This includes a major refurbishment of the bespoke glass lifts and a comprehensive review to increase the building’s BER (Building Energy Rating), ensuring a sustainable future.
The Harcourt Building marks the addition of another property to the expanding Bannon office portfolio and we look forward to delivering a high standard of management services.

In a world of constant change, taking on a new path can often feel like embarking on a journey of a hundred steps. Each step is a new challenge, opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, a chance to learn the new skills. As someone who has made the leap of faith from the mountain of hospitality to the dynamic field of commercial property management, I can vouch for the transformative power of such a transition.
My journey began in the financial sector – until the financial crisis struck and I had to explore another opportunity. The road to a new stage of my life led me to Ireland, where I have began my journey in the hospitality business, perfecting my skills in customer service, operations management, and team leadership. Years of perfecting my skills were recognised in a number of professional achievements and honoured by Irish Hospitality Institute award in 2019 for the best ‘’Food and Beverage Manager of the Year’’. While I thrived in the fast-paced environment, I found myself drawn to the field of property management – a field where attention to detail, customer relationships and strategic thinking are paramount.
The decision to make this move from the hospitality business to commercial property management was not made easy. It required careful consideration, self assessment and willingness to make a leap of faith into the unknown. However, I was determined to make a change and explore new avenues of professional growth.
With guidance from my colleagues, the first steps were to acquire all the necessary technical knowledge and skills in commercial property management, occupier and owner relations and lease agreements.
However, the career change from hospitality to commercial property management was not just about technical knowledge – it also required a shift in my mindset. While the hospitality industry focuses on creating experiences for guests, property management is focused on creating value for owners and occupiers. This shift in perspective allowed me to leverage my background in hospitality to enhance the user experience, improve engagement with suppliers and drive service standards across the portfolio.
Another important step on my professional journey was building a professional network and relationships in the real estate industry. I actively participated in networking sessions and attended industry events. By making professional connections and expanding my knowledge base I became more confident in my line of work.
As I progressed on my journey, I encountered numerous challenges and setbacks. From managing complex maintenance contracts to navigating complex lease agreements, each challenge presented an opportunity to learn and develop. By going through this experience, I was able to overcome all obstacles and gain confidence in my abilities.
Today, as I reflect on my journey from hospitality to commercial property management, I am grateful for the experiences that have shaped me into the real estate professional I am today. While the transition may have been daunting at times, it has been immensely rewarding.
In conclusion, the transition from hospitality to commercial property management is not just a career change—it’s a rewarding 100 step journey. So, take that first step and embark on your journey—you never know where it might lead you.

Congratulations to Richard Merriman and Iain McGann on their promotions to Associate Director in the Bannon Property Management team. Richard and Iain play key roles in managing our property portfolio across the retail and office sectors nationwide. Wishing them both the very best of luck as they continue to be an integral part of growing the firm.

With Bannon being the largest managing agent of retail properties in the country and welcoming over 100 million people to our various schemes on an annual basis, health and safety is paramount on our list of priorities. Since 2016, Bannon has worked in partnership with health and safety consultants SeaChange Ltd.
SeaChange conducts annual audits across the Bannon property management portfolio. The work involves a risk assessment along with the preparation of a safety statement. Each site adopts the SeaChange Slip, Trip and Fall Prevention system and has access to the SeaChange client portal to track safety KPIs.
Among our properties, Athlone Town Centre has consistently excelled through this rigorous process. Achieving a high score necessitates hourly checks, contributing to an outstanding compliance rate of 92%. In 2023, nearly 6,000 checklists were completed, showcasing remarkable dedication from the onsite team in safeguarding all visitors and staff at Athlone Town Centre.
Thanks to these concerted efforts, Bannon has observed the lowest number of recorded incidents in the centre since it opened 17 years ago. This dedication has resulted in Athlone Town Centre being one of the top scoring shopping centres in the country with an annual SABRE audit score of 4.1 out of 5. The SABRE audit is carried out once a year and the benchmark for safety culture.
The centre manager Shirley Delahunt comments ‘As a team, we have been using the SeaChange system in Athlone Towncentre for the last number of years. Despite reservations at the outset that this would add an additional administrative layer, seeing the SeaChange system in operation we quickly realised how agile and intuitive it was and how it could be used to complement and enhance the processes in place.
The introduction of the SeaChange system and use of the app gave us a structure within the area of Health and Safety that we previously lacked. As a team, we have tailored the SeaChange system to our site-specific requirements, using it to monitor all elements of health and safety as well as creating bespoke checklists and patrol requirements for the site. The ease of use of the SeaChange app and portal has really assisted us in securing buy-in from all team members on-site. It has meant that health and safety within the site has now become the responsibility of everyone as opposed to a few. The reporting function allows us to continually monitor our performance and clearly identify any areas of deficiency.’
Athlone Town Centre consistently scoring a Gold rating on an annual basis is a testament to the team on the ground. We, at Bannon, are immensely proud of our onsite team and their continuous dedication to this cause on a daily basis.
