Grand Canal Square – BREEAM excellent
Setting the benchmark in design, location, quality and living environment – 2, 4 & 5 Grand Canal Square has been awarded a BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) rating of EXCELLENT. The first office building in Dublin 2 and only the second in Ireland to achieve a BREEAM Excellent.
BREEAM is the leading and most widely used environment assessment method for buildings on an international level. It sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the real measure used to describe a building’s environment performance. BREEAM provides assurance that best environmental practice is incorporated into a building by assessing all elements from the running costs to surrounding environmental credentials. This can be seen throughout the Grand Canal Square development from the high quality internal and external finish to the chilled beam air conditioning and triple glazed thin flue façade. The running costs of the offices within Grand Canal Square are reduced significantly by saving the tenant up to €200,000 per annum on a typical office of 10,000 sq.m compared to a typical 5 year old office building of similar size. Grand Canal Square has been designed by the renowned architect Daniel Libeskind and developed by Chartered Land.
