The Client, a Religious Order, were no longer in a position to sustain the upkeep and maintenance requirements associated with a substantial Monastery property on 15 acres which included Protected Structures. Bannon were instructed to dispose of the property.
Given the long history of the Clients with the property they were sensitive to publicity and wished to alienate the property on a confidential basis. Bannon conducted extensive due diligence on the development potential of the property for residential purposes. An Architect’s Feasibility study was prepared which indicated the potential development yield from the greenfield land and the former Monastery complex. The Bannon team worked closely with the vendor’s legal team to bring the transaction to a successful conclusion.
Following a confidential off-market sales campaign the property was successfully sold to a developer with the appropriate restrictions in place regarding the future use of certain buildings deemed historically and culturally significant to the Vendor.
