Harbour Place Shopping Centre is a prominent retail destination in the heart of Mullingar. Anchored by Dunnes Stores, the centre features 24 retail units and has been a key part of the community since its opening in 1997. In 2023, Davy acquired the shopping centre and appointed Bannon as sole leasing agents to the shopping centre.
Bannon identified gaps in the retailer mix at Harbour Place and implemented a strategy targeting both local and national retailers to improve the selection and better serve the Mullingar community. An example of this successful strategy is the leasing to UK PLC Card Factory, who’s recently opened store at Harbour Place is one of the top performers in their Republic of Ireland portfolio. Bannon’s extensive experience in leasing regional town shopping centres across Ireland gives us a clear competitive advantage in achieving the best results for our clients.
Although a relatively recent instruction for the Bannon leasing team, the addition of key new retailers such as Card Factory, Fit Culture Clothing and Sweetpea, along with agreements to renew existing leases in the scheme has yielded immediate positive results on the overall scheme performance with footfall for 2024 tracking approximately 4-5% higher than the previous year.
