Case Study
Stillorgan Village Centre
Leasing Agent
Stillorgan Village Centre is Ireland’s oldest shopping centre which opened in 1967. It is located in the heart of Stillorgan, one of Dublin’s most affluent suburbs. The scheme provides 13,154 sq m of retail accommodation across over 50 retail units with 487 car parking spaces.
In 2023 the scheme was facing increased vacancy with the imminent exit of an anchor retailer. At this time Bannon were appointed as joint leasing agents by the Owners, Kennedy Wilson to provide a joint leasing strategy on how best to combat the vacancy whilst improving the existing retailer mix.
Since being appointed Bannon have used their experience from working on similar neighborhood schemes in conjunction with catchment analysis to identify key retailers to target.
With the vacant space concentrated in a single section of the scheme, the agents have been working closely with the client to explore various reconfiguration options. We have assessed the feasibility of amalgamating the space for a single occupier and compared it against splitting the space into multiple units. Bannon understands the importance of prioritising occupancy while maintaining a balanced retailer mix.
Since engagement Bannon have successfully targeted both international and national retailers.
We are currently in a transformation period, working with a number of brands and continue to develop our joint leasing strategy to ensure a quality retailer mix for the scheme.
