Case Study
Thurles Shopping Centre
Leasing Agent
Bannon was asked to provide development design advice in relation to the scheme which was constructed by Clancy Construction and opened for trade in 1996. Bannon were retained as sole leasing agents and were tasked with pre-letting the scheme off the back of doing a deal with Dunnes Stores to anchor the scheme in 4,000 Sqm of space. The scheme was extended in 2008.
The scheme extends to 12,000 Sqm and comprises a total of 28 units with a cinema and multi-story carpark.
Bannon have been leasing the scheme through successive owners for close to 30 years.
Working closely with our clients we delivered a mix that matched the catchment and its profile to the trading opportunity the Centre offered. We added 4,000 sqm of space in 2008 and delivered a strong mix of domestic and international brands which further broadened the Centre’s appeal to a significantly wider catchment.
The Centre has successfully traded and has had strong interest from retailers seeking to tap into the significant catchment that Thurles enjoys. Brands such as Boots, Costa, Elverys and IMC trade successfully in the centre. Bannon guided the owners through the Celtic Tiger, the Global Financial Crises and Covid-19 and we have consistently maintained a high level of occupancy through these turbulent times.
Bannon have been retained to provide leasing services by subsequent owners GL Ireland ICAV and more recently Davy Private.
