Case Study
Bird Nesting Prevention
Property Management
Given the prevalence of mechanical and electrical equipment situated atop the rooftops of new office developments in the city, the inherent threat of bird nesting has emerged as a significant concern. This poses considerable risks to health, safety, and fire prevention for our clients and their occupants. Recognising these challenges, the Bannon property management team was appointed to meticulously oversee a tendering process aimed at implementing effective bird nesting prevention measures while ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
To address this issue, the team initiated the preparation of a comprehensive Request for Tender (RFT) document, simultaneously shortlisting suitable contractors. Subsequently, the RFT was distributed to three qualified contractors, and a thorough review and analysis were conducted on the received submissions. Following this assessment, a careful selection was made, and the project was awarded to the successful contractor.
The appointed contractor collaborated closely with the property management team to identify and implement the most effective solution tailored to the building’s unique needs. Bird netting and ultrasound systems were strategically deployed to deter birds from nesting and causing damage to the mechanical and electrical plant of the property. This proactive approach not only eliminated bird droppings but also significantly reduced potential risks to the occupants of the property. By adopting these preventive measures, the property owners safeguarded their investment, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for both Occupiers and visitors alike.
